Always Good To Know
GENERAL
Please remember seed paper is a handmade product which can be printed and written on. It does not conform to the usual expected finish you have with coated and matt stocks. It is natural, made from recycled fibres with added cotton which makes it special, like nature itself. It creates a wonderful talking point and tells your customers who you are.
FAQ
PRINTING
We recommend a maximum coverage of 40% ink which allows the seeds to fulfil their potential. No heat is used in the printing process and inks are water based. If you would like guidance on this, please call us where we can help you with your design.
PAPER SIZES
Our seed paper is becoming really popular, with wedding invitations, flyers, swing tags, business cards, menus, table talkers; just to name a few ideas. The paper is available cut to size starting at SRA3, SRA4, A4, A5, A6, DL and various greeting card sizes. We now have envelopes available as well to suit invitations, greetings cards and leaflets/flyers. If you wish to print the paper yourself, we are able to supply blank paper for you.
PLANTING INSTRUCTIONS
It is recommended to plant the paper after the frosts, so the end of March, or the beginning of April. Seed Paper needs a lot of water to start the germination process. Tear into large pieces and soak in a bowl of water for 2 days. After, that place the paper on top of good soil/compost and water well every day. You will soon start to see small green shoots and after a few weeks, flowers.
SHIPPING/DELIVERY
Seed paper is not printed in a conventional way, that is, it cannot be processed at the same speed that normal papers will allow. Please allow sufficient time and if you are not sure, please call or email and we will advise you on the lead times.
